A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I distinctly remember my 6th form art teacher telling me to stick to design, she was more a "throw it at the canvas" kind of art fan and didn't like my obsession with details. My confidence was shattered and I didn't pick up a pencil for over 20 years... I regret that continually.

So a number of years ago I decided to pick up a couple of canvases and just have a go. I listed them for sale and both sold within 3 hours of listing, I was encouraged and have continued my art journey exploring different mediums and refining my style, but like every artist, I'm a work in progress.

I work from my home in the Manuwatu region of New Zealand, where our beautiful surroundings inspire me daily. I get inspiration from nature - our native birds are my main source of artistic mojo and I endeavour to bring them to life on canvas through a variety of mediums. While I am particularly drawn to nature and specialise in birds, I also delve into portraiture of animals and people.

My artworks and have sold to collectors in Italy, the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK and throughout New Zealand.
I'm a self-taught artist and have been featured in The NZ Artist Magazine and my piece "Pretty Boy" won the Supreme Award at the FADAS Art Awards 2018.
